Viability of Rhizobium bacteroids. |

| Abstract: | Bacteroids prepared from nodules of soybean and bean were tested for viability. Contrary to the prevailing view that bacteroids are nonviable, it was found that bacteroids averaged 90% viability, irrespective of Rhizobium strain, nodule age, or nodule environment. |
